This unit develops an understanding of fundamental quantitative techniques involving survey design (including the ethical issues associated with data gathering), data collection and analysis within the context of its application in business and accounting. The analytical component explores the basic characteristics of accounting data-sets (mean, median, mode, standard deviation) and the presentation of data in a graphical format using computer packages so as to enhance the understanding of decision-makers. Regression analysis and hypothesis testing are also covered
