Learning outcomes assessed
1

Students will design, develop, test and evaluate software solutions to authentic problems using pseudocode, algorithms, programming constructs and accepted coding standards. Tasks may include documentation of design processes, testing and debugging activities, justification of programming decisions, and appropriate use of contemporary software development tools, including AI-enabled tools where specified.

Assignments

60 - 80%

1, 2, 3, 4, 5
2

Students will independently demonstrate foundational programming knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical problem-solving activities. Tasks may require students to analyse algorithms, interpret and modify program code, identify and resolve errors, develop simple solutions, and explain program behaviour and implementation decisions.

Tests, quizzes and/or practical programming challenges.

20 - 40%

The ability to work fluently across a range of tools and applications to achieve a range of skills.

Level 1 - Students require directions and boundaries from mentor

FedTASK 5: Sustainable and Ethical Mindset
The ability to consider and assess the consequences and impact of ideas and actions in enacting ethical and sustainable decisions.
FedTASK

Federation University recognises that students require key transferable employability skills to prepare them for their future workplace and society. FedTASKs (Transferable Attributes Skills and Knowledge) provide a targeted focus on five key, transferable Attributes, Skills, and Knowledge that are embedded within curriculum, developed gradually towards successful measures and interlinked with cross-discipline and co-operative learning opportunities.
