This unit forms the second part of a year-long honours research project. The assessment for this unit is the final honours thesis. It is expected that students will show a high degree of self-reliance, initiative and intellectual independence in conducting their honours research project. By the second semester, honours projects should be well underway. There are no formal milestones to be achieved for either SCHON4003 Research thesis 1 or SCHON4004 Research thesis 2, other than the final thesis submission. As such, it is the primary responsibility of the student to ensure suitable progress is being made towards a timely submission. However, it is suggested that the second semester should involve the finalisation of data collection, data analysis and thesis preparation. It is recommended that students submit a full thesis draft to supervisors for comment, and that they allow suitable time for supervisors to return comments - this should be organised with supervisors beforehand, and a timeframe for turnaround of drafts should be agreed upon.
•The unit is based on an individual research thesis conducted under the guidance of a research supervisor(s).
