This is a generic course used to facilitate the enrolment of students who are undertaking studies through the Victorian Institute of Earth and Planetary Sciences (VIEPS). Enrolment in this course enables such students to receive credit towards their Federation University programs after attending classes and completing assessments with one of the partner institutions, who offer units within VIEPS. Students attend classes and complete assessment within the VIEPS Unit/s in which they are enrolled and their final grade is provided by that institution to be recorded as their final grade in this generic course

Students enrol with Victorian Institute the Earth and Planetary Sciences and study courses made available through them and the participating partner universities in areas including (but not limited to) geology, geophysics, geochemistry, geochronology, geomorphology, hydrogeology, climatology, oceanography and meteorology. This can involve the use of technology and software in the analysis and modelling of earth processes and features, the development of a suite of field techniques and mapping skills and through the attendance and participation in excursions and fieldtrips, both locally and interstate/overseas. *The choice of course/s to be undertaken must be approved by the Federation University VIEPS coordinator and the relevant Program Coordinator;
